All of a Sudden

Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, director of *Drive My Car* (IFF 2021) and *Evil Does Not Exist* (IFF 2023), returns to the Inverness Film Festival with this Paris-set drama. Two scholars begin an academic correspondence on chance and risk, but as one falls ill, their letters shift into something more intimate — a searching dialogue on mortality and an unexpected bond between the two women. Rated PG. Presented with thanks to Curzon.
