Fat Boy Swim

Visible Fictions presents a live preview of the soundtrack from *Fat Boy Swim*, a new musical adapted from Cathy Forde's acclaimed novel. The story follows Jimmy through a coming-of-age struggle with weight, school bullies, and family relationships, set to an original score described as indie folk meets memorable melodies — contemporary in sound but with a nostalgic, 1990s-influenced feel. Written by Catherine Forde, directed by Dougie Irvine, and with musical direction by Michael John McCarthy, this is an early chance to hear the songs before the full production tours Scotland. Suitable for ages 12 and over; contains themes of bullying and mild adult humour.
