Clarissa

Set across a single day in Lagos, Nigeria, *Clarissa* follows Sophie Okonedo as a high-society woman preparing to host a party while her complicated past resurfaces in the form of distant friends and former loves. Simultaneously, a young soldier named Septimus (Fortune Nwafor) is haunted by memories of the horrors he has witnessed. Directors Arie and Chuko adapt Virginia Woolf's *Mrs. Dalloway*, transposing its shifting perspectives between past and present, across class divides, to paint a portrait of contemporary Nigeria. Screened as part of Inverness Film Festival, rated 15+.
