Bridging the Gap: Parallels

This year's Bridging the Gap presents a programme of short documentaries united by the theme of parallel lives — different worlds and timelines running alongside one another without meeting, yet shaped by mutual influence. Subjects range from a vanishing therapeutic community and two queer Michaels from the North East fighting erasure, to two "Irish Giants" separated by centuries who share a rare condition, and a Scottish refinery town whose uncertain fate mirrors rising tensions between renters and landlords. The programme closes with a reflection on humanity's fractured relationship with the natural world, seen through the lens of feral cats. Rated 12+.
